Mental Health Fundamentals for Business Professionals
About This Workshop
Most managers are not trained therapists, but they do encounter employees going through burnout, anxiety, grief, and crisis. Knowing how to respond without making things worse is a real and specific skill.
What this course addresses
This course covers the core concepts of mental health literacy: recognizing signs of distress, understanding common conditions like depression and anxiety in occupational settings, and knowing when to refer someone to professional support. It does not train you to diagnose or treat anything.
You will work through practical scenarios drawn from HR case files and team management situations. The material is grounded in Canadian workplace legislation, including obligations under occupational health and safety frameworks.
Who benefits from this training
Team leads, HR coordinators, and operations managers who handle people daily. Also useful for business owners in small organizations where there is no dedicated HR function. The course assumes no prior background in psychology or social work.
Farouk Ndiaye, Operations Lead - I had an employee showing signs of serious distress and had no idea what my role was. This course gave me a clear framework for what to do and what not to do.
Sessions are self-paced with video lessons, written materials, and short knowledge checks after each module. A certificate of completion is issued upon finishing all assessments.
